Ukulele Club is a fun and engaging introduction to music for elementary-aged students! Children will learn basic ukulele skills, chords, strumming patterns, rhythm, and popular songs in a supportive group setting. No prior music experience is required. Our goal is to build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music while having fun with friends.
Mr. Josh is an educator, tenor, multi-instrumentalist, and composer located in the San Marcos-Austin area. He is currently finishing up his Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education and Composition at Texas State University, but has been studying classical music for over a decade. His experience lies in large-ensemble work, serving as the Texas State University Singers’ Tenor section leader for four years, as well as in chamber groups and solo repertoire. He has performed with many ensembles, including Conspirare in Austin and the Texas State New Music Ensemble: Mysterium.
In lessons, his goal is to teach students the techniques necessary to develop a deep love and passion for music, and allow students room for creativity, keeping music engaging and fun no matter the level. Music theory is applied throughout lessons in a beginner-friendly, digestible approach.
