Learn the Basics of Apple's new Swift programming language, including how to use variables, write methods with parameters, write loops, use Objects, and learn about arrays. We will use Apple's xCode programming environment and learn how to use playgrounds. Also, you will learn how to use Apple's xCode programming environment and learn how to make a simple iPhone/iPad app. Camp counselors are members of the WHS Robotics team. Taught by an Eanes ISD teacher and supervised by Westlake Robotics Coach Norman Morgan.

VEX IQ Introduction and Simple Engineering - VEX IQ is a snap-together robotics system designed for quick builds and simple programming for robotics solutions. Campers will build autonomous and remote control robots to compete using sensors, motors, gears, etc. with guidance from WHS Robotics team members. Campers will build and take home a project such as a Trebuchet, self-propelled vehicle, or similar. WHS Robotics camps are under the supervision of Coach Norman Morgan.

VEX IQ Advanced Challenge - Students will build and program a robot with guidance from WHS Robotics team members using the VEX IQ platform with advanced programming and building techniques, which is used by thousands of robotics programs across the world to teach engineering principles. This “teleoperated” robot will then be used in a variety of challenges and competitions, which will allow students to experience first-hand the thrill of competitive robotics while learning STEM principles. Teams will close out the week in a tournament against each other to crown a champion. Students will build and take home a solar race car. WHS Robotics camps are under the supervision of Coach Norman Morgan.

Come and enjoy an Engineering and CAD Camp! Campers will learn to use SoildWorks, an industry-standard 3-D CAD System, to create three dimensional models. We will create one of your parts on a 3D printer. Afternoons will be dedicated to real hands-on Engineering projects such as trebuchets.
